Facial Nerves


These procedures are used to correct lack of function in the mimetic muscles, which control facial movement.

-Facial Re-suspension (for facial nerve paralysis)- corrects for facial drooping due to paralysis of the facial nerve.

-Facial Nerve to Hypoglossal Nerve Transfer (for facial nerve paralysis)- surgical procedure which connect a portion of the hypoglossal nerve which controls tongue movement to the facial nerve to reinnervate facial muscles and provide muscle tone and some muscle control of movement.
